Food Culture Art Experience Journey

Food is an integral aspect of culture and can serve as a link to one’s family or country. Taking time to appreciate cultural food practices can have an influence on the children. Children will get a better understanding of food from across the world if they hand-pick the food from the garden and make food themselves.

You have to taste a culture to understand it.

DIY cultural foods

Dumplings

Making and trying new foods from various cultures with different textures and flavors is part of multiculturalism and opens children’s minds up to the world. When children make dumplings in Chinese traditional costumes, for example, they may improve their cognitive and collaboration skills while learning about Chinese culture and customs.

Eating a variety of foods, both macronutrients (carbohydrate, protein, and fat) and micronutrients (vitamins and minerals), as well as eating organic foods is the key to a healthy and balanced diet. At Whole Education Academy, we serve foods consistent with Canada’s Food Guide.
